GOLD Feb-25 futures contract gains by 0.45% and SILVER Mar-25 futures contract gains by 0.67%, while CRUDEOIL Jan-25 futures contract drops by 0.19% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jan-25 futures reaches at 19072 point.
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded its all time high turnover of Rs.5,03,335 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 13 January 2025 till 11:30 pm. Exchange also clocked highest turnover of Rs.411,265 crores in Crude Oil Options contracts on same day.
On Wednesday at exchange recorded turnover of Rs. 10672.17 crores in commodity futures and turnover of Rs. 118508.57 crores (notional) in options on commodity futures. Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jan-25 futures was reached at 19072 point.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 5321.28 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.45% to Rs. 78510 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Jan-25 contract was up by 0.48% to Rs. 63283 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Jan-25 contract was up by 0.48% to Rs. 7806 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.43% to Rs. 78486 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.67% to Rs. 91160 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.65% to Rs. 91196 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.65% to Rs. 91207 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2245.01 crores with volume of 2853 lots and OI of 16621 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1348.80 crores with volume of 4934 lots and OI of 24212 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1502.45 crores. COPPER Jan-25 contract was down by 0.32% to Rs. 826.9 per kg and ZINC Jan-25 contract was down by 1.21% to Rs. 270.35 per kg while ALUMINIUM Jan-25 contract was down by 0.34% to Rs. 246.1 per kg and LEAD Jan-25 contract was down by 0.76% to Rs. 176.35 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 776.66 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 141.56 crores, Lead futures Rs. 40.57 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 387.16 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 3995.98 crores. CRUDEOIL Jan-25 contract was down by 0.19% to Rs. 6723 per BBL while NATURALGAS Jan-25 contract was down by 1.06% to Rs. 344.6 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 640.20 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 2760.64 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Jan-25 contract was down by 0.26% to Rs. 924 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 0.15% to Rs. 54400 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 118508.57 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1263.87 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6700 was down by 27.22% to Rs. 53.20 with volume of 147508 lots & OI of 8210 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6700 was down by 13.3% to Rs. 32.6 with volume of 195161 lots & OI of 10513 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.340 was down by 8.2% to Rs. 23.50 with volume of 24934 lots & OI of 3706 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.340 was up by 5.16% to Rs. 18.35 with volume of 22785 lots & OI of 3747 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was up by 31.95% to Rs. 301.50 with volume of 1334 lots & OI of 524 lots, while Gold Put Option Jan-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was down by 19.8% to Rs. 573 with volume of 1564 lots & OI of 727 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.91000 was up by 11.75% to Rs. 2920.00 with volume of 1025 lots & OI of 297 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.91000 was down by 7.06% to Rs. 2772.5 with volume of 706 lots & OI of 182 lots.
