Marathi cinema’s growing recognition across India is attracting talented actors and technicians from other regional film industries. Joining this expanding crossover is South Indian actor and ‘KGF’ fame Garuda Ram, who will be seen in a pivotal role in director Swaroopp Sawant’s upcoming Marathi film ‘Devghar On Rent’. South Indian actor Shravan Raghavendra is also part of the film, which promises a unique blend of spirituality, contemporary life and high-impact action.

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on September 25 across Maharashtra, as well as in Belgaum, Hyderabad, Indore and Baroda.

Presented by Anandi Pictures Amravati and produced under the banner of Radhakrushna Production, the film is produced by Sachin Rode Patil and Poonam Chaudhary Patil. Swaroopp Sawant, who is currently in the news for his Marathi film ‘Maharashtra Epstein Files’, has directed ‘Devghar On Rent’. The concept of the film comes from Poonam Chaudhary Patil, while Sanjay Navgire has written the story, screenplay and dialogues.

The makers recently revealed key details about the project, including the involvement of Garuda Ram and Shravan Raghavendra. Both actors, who have worked extensively in the South Indian film industry, will portray important characters in the film.

As its intriguing title suggests, ‘Devghar On Rent’ explores spirituality through the lens of contemporary life, while also bringing action into the narrative. South Indian cinema is widely known for its high-octane action sequences, a style that has also found a strong following among Hindi-speaking audiences in recent years. Marathi audiences will now get to experience a similar action-driven presentation through this film.

Action sequences for the film have been designed by Karthik Dangari, known for his work as an action master on ‘Pushpa’. The makers have focused on creating gripping sequences that can keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The production values have also been planned on a scale comparable to Hindi and South Indian films.

Producer Sachin Rode Patil said that powerful action was an important requirement of the story. According to him, the makers wanted every element on screen to provide complete entertainment to the audience, which led them to incorporate high-impact action sequences.

Director Swaroopp Sawant clarified that Karthik Dangari was not brought on board merely to add a South Indian-style action element. He believes audiences will be impressed by the execution of the sequences, which have been integrated into a screenplay filled with dramatic developments. Sawant also highlighted the importance of the film’s spiritual element, saying that the story connects spirituality with the present day.

The film features Nikhil Chavan, Ankit Mohan, Bhau Kadam, Shashank Shende, Ashwini Chavare, Vaibhav Chavan, Suresh Vishwakarma, Anil Nagarkar, Siddheshwar Jhadbuke and Gautami Patil, among others.

Music has been composed by S. Sagar and Kabir Shakya, with choreography by Kishor Dalvi. DOP Chaitanya Salunkhe has handled cinematography, while Rohit Nagbhide has composed the background score. Dilip Kandhare is the art director, Apeksha Gandhi Soni is the costume designer and Sujit Survase has handled makeup. Anuneha Ghodke serves as executive producer, while Yash Sanas is the production manager.

‘Devghar On Rent’ will hit theatres on September 25.
