Mumbai: In response to the growing burden of cancer cases across the country, Zynova Shalby Multispecialty Hospital has launched a dedicated Oncology Department aimed at delivering comprehensive and integrated cancer care under one roof. The new department seeks to combine early diagnosis, precise staging and advanced treatment protocols with emotional and nutritional support for patients and their families.
The hospital stated that the objective of the department is not limited to medical intervention alone. Instead, it focuses on a structured and timely approach to cancer management. From initial screening to post-treatment follow-up, the system has been designed to reduce delays and improve patient outcomes through coordinated care.
The Oncology Department is headed by Senior Consultant Head and Neck Onco-Surgeon Dr. Dipak Khanna. Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Khanna emphasised the importance of early detection. He said that identifying cancer at an early stage significantly improves treatment success and survival rates. According to him, the department aims to ensure that patients do not face unnecessary waiting periods between diagnosis and treatment. Each case is evaluated individually, and personalised treatment plans are prepared based on the patient’s medical condition, stage of disease and overall health profile.
Dr. Khanna also highlighted the emotional and psychological impact of cancer. He noted that the disease affects not only the patient but also the entire family. To address this, the hospital has incorporated nutritional counselling and emotional support services as part of its oncology care programme. He added that informed decision-making, timely medical intervention and appropriate therapy can make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes.
Hospital Chief Operating Officer Reny Varghese described the launch as an important milestone in the institution’s healthcare services. He said the Oncology Department reflects the hospital’s commitment to delivering quality and compassionate treatment backed by scientific protocols. According to him, the goal is to ensure that patients receive accessible, ethical and evidence-based care in a supportive environment.
With the introduction of this specialised department, Zynova Shalby Multispecialty Hospital aims to strengthen cancer care services in Mumbai. The hospital believes that combining advanced medical infrastructure with patient-centred support systems can help build trust and improve long-term outcomes for individuals battling cancer.
