The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) is set to launch premium luxury bus services in Chennai, partnering with private operators to enhance public transport options. This initiative, approved by the transport department, aims to encourage residents to opt for public transport over personal vehicles.
The new buses will feature amenities such as air conditioning, WiFi, GPS, CCTV, and spacious seating arrangements. By adopting a revenue-sharing model, MTC plans to improve passenger comfort and operational efficiency while maintaining public utility standards.
Officials are currently identifying routes and preparing for the implementation of these services.
