Rashtrapati Bhavan hosted the Purple Fest yesterday. The event celebrated the talents and achievements of Divyangjan. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment organised the festival.
President Droupadi Murmu attended the event and watched cultural performances. She said that a society’s reputation depends on its sensitivity toward the underprivileged. She highlighted India’s cultural values of compassion, inclusiveness, and harmony. She also appreciated the government’s efforts under the Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan to empower Divyangjan.
The festival featured various activities. Visitors participated in sports, digital inclusion and entrepreneurship workshops, Abilympics, and creative events. The fest aimed to raise awareness about disabilities and promote inclusion.
Purple Fest 2025 reinforced the importance of social justice, dignity, and equality. It encouraged greater understanding and acceptance of Divyangjan in society.
