Agastya Nanda is slowly carving out his own space in the Hindi film industry, even as he carries the weight of coming from one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated families. The young actor is currently awaiting the release of Ikkis, a biographical war drama directed by Sriram Raghavan. In the film, Agastya portrays Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a Param Vir Chakra awardee and one of India’s bravest war heroes.
In an exclusive conversation with IMDb, Agastya spoke openly about the pressure often associated with his family background. He made it clear that he does not see his lineage as something he needs to live up to. According to him, the legacy he carries most strongly is that of being his father’s son. Making his father proud remains his biggest responsibility, while the achievements of other family members inspire him rather than burden him.
Agastya shared that he deeply admires the work of his actor relatives but believes he cannot and should not try to replicate their journeys. He feels that spending time comparing himself to them would only distract him from building his own identity as an actor. For him, the focus remains on honesty in his work and growth through experience.
Talking about Ikkis, Agastya described the shoot as demanding and far from predictable. He revealed that the film’s schedule was filled with constant action and unexpected situations. There were very few calm moments on set, making the experience both intense and memorable. Working under such conditions challenged him physically and mentally, but also helped him evolve as a performer.
Looking ahead, Agastya expressed excitement about the future of Hindi cinema, especially films led by actors from his own generation. He shared that seeing young actors deliver strong performances fills him with a sense of pride. Rather than competition, he views the success of his peers as a positive sign for the industry.
As Agastya Nanda steps forward with Ikkis, his words reflect a clear mindset. He respects the past but chooses to walk his own path, guided by discipline, humility, and a desire to earn his place through hard work.
