The Asian Paints Beautiful Homes Invogue Architect Pickleball Tournament 2026, supported by the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), Mumbai Regional Chapter, wrapped up with an action-packed finals weekend on 7 and 8 February. What began as a spirited sporting initiative evolved into a vibrant celebration of fitness, collaboration, and community within Mumbai’s design fraternity.
Season 2 of the APB Tour brought together more than 150 architects and interior designers from across the city, many of whom swapped drafting tables and design studios for pickleball paddles. Over the course of the tournament, the courts turned into a lively meeting ground where professional camaraderie met competitive energy, reinforcing the idea that strong networks can also be built beyond boardrooms and project sites.
The tournament journey unfolded over several weeks, featuring structured practice sessions at multiple venues across Mumbai. Adding a touch of elegance to the sporting calendar was a pre-event gala dinner hosted at Sofitel, Mumbai, which set the tone for an experience that balanced sport with social connection. From league matches to knockout rounds, teams displayed remarkable skill, strategy, and sportsmanship as they advanced toward the finals.
The concluding matches delivered high-octane action and nail-biting moments, culminating in Team Nexion clinching the championship title. Team Steelx finished as worthy runners-up, rounding off a fiercely competitive season. Reflecting on the win, Team Nexion’s captain, ID. Soniya Potdarr, described the tournament as a refreshing platform that allowed professionals to engage, unwind, and compete in a setting that felt both relaxed and energising.
Beyond the trophies and applause, the tournament carried a deeper purpose. Ar. Milind Pai, Honorary Secretary of IIID Mumbai, highlighted how such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing relationships within the design community. By stepping outside traditional professional environments, participants were able to connect on a more personal level, strengthening bonds that often translate into stronger collaboration in their professional lives.
The event was supported by a strong line-up of industry partners, including Heritage Marble, Comlux, The Select, Steelx, ARC ONE, Nexion, and Changi Lights. Executed by Team IIGNITE Inc., the tournament continues to grow as a distinctive movement that blends wellness, networking, and community building.
With Season 2 concluding on a high note, the Asian Paints Beautiful Homes Invogue Architect Pickleball Tournament has firmly established itself as more than just a sporting event. As the APB Tour looks ahead to an even bigger return, it promises to keep uniting the design community through energy, teamwork, and a shared love for the game.
