Yash Raj Films has unveiled a brand-new track from Mardaani 3, adding fresh momentum to the growing buzz around the film. Headlined by Rani Mukerji, the much-awaited third instalment of the franchise is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on January 30, 2026.
Rani once again steps into the role of Shivani Shivaji Roy, the uncompromising police officer known for taking on difficult and dangerous social crimes. In this chapter, her character is seen racing against time to rescue 93 missing girls, setting the stage for another high-stakes and emotionally charged mission.
The newly released song, ‘Babbar Sherni’, highlights Shivani’s commanding screen presence and celebrates the strength and resilience of women. The high-energy anthem has been composed, produced, and arranged by Sarthak Kalyani, with lyrics by Shruti Shukla. Rapper Dee MC adds a powerful layer to the track with a hard-hitting verse that enhances its intensity.
Speaking about the song, Rani Mukerji described it as a musical reflection of the spirit of Mardaani. She said the track captures the fearless nature of Shivani Shivaji Roy while honouring women who stand firm against injustice. According to the actor, the song goes beyond promotion and becomes an emotional extension of the character, expressing strength, courage, and controlled fury through music.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 3 continues the franchise’s tradition of addressing urgent social issues. The original Mardaani focused on human trafficking, while Mardaani 2 explored the disturbing mindset of a violent criminal. The upcoming film is expected to spotlight another serious social concern, reinforcing the franchise’s commitment to impactful storytelling.
The Mardaani series remains unique in Indian cinema as the only successful franchise led by a female police officer. With Mardaani 3, Rani Mukerji once again takes centre stage, carrying forward a legacy built on strong performances and socially driven narratives.
Mardaani 3 releases in theatres across the globe on January 30, 2026.
