Film pulled from cinemas amid India-Pak tensions
Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s upcoming film Bhool Chuk Maaf will no longer hit theatres. Instead, it will head straight to streaming on Prime Video.
The makers decided to cancel the theatrical release due to rising cross-border tensions. Their statement said the “spirit of the nation comes first.”
Operation Sindoor Sparks Change
The decision follows the buzz around Operation Sindoor, a secretive Indian military operation. Though not directly linked, the timing raised questions.
The team felt a theatrical release was not ideal right now. They chose a digital premiere to maintain focus on national sentiment.
Directed by Karan Sharma, Bhool Chuk Maaf features Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles. It’s said to blend emotion, drama, and patriotism.
The release date on Prime Video is expected soon. But no official date has been announced yet.
OTT Over Box Office
The shift reflects a growing trend where films skip cinemas. With streaming platforms offering global reach, digital premieres are becoming common—especially during sensitive times.
