TRAC Representations brings Indian travel trade leaders together to explore Cambodia’s tourism potential
TRAC Representations successfully organised a Familiarisation (FAM) trip for leading members of the Indian travel trade fraternity as part of the Cambodia Travel Match (CTM) 2026 Mini-Series – India Special Edition. The initiative aimed to showcase Cambodia’s diverse tourism offerings, strengthen B2B partnerships and create new opportunities for Indian outbound travel.
The CTM 2026 Mini-Series is a year-long initiative designed to connect international travel buyers with Cambodia’s tourism stakeholders. The India Special Edition was jointly organised by the Pacific Asia Travel Association Cambodia Chapter (PATACC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), Cambodia Tourism Federation (CTF) and the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (ICC).
The programme focused on increasing international tourist arrivals, encouraging business partnerships and promoting Cambodia as a preferred destination for Indian travellers.
Indian Delegates Experience Cambodia’s Hospitality and Heritage
The FAM trip offered delegates an opportunity to experience Cambodia’s cultural heritage, modern attractions and hospitality firsthand. From arrival in Siem Reap to exploring Phnom Penh and Koh Rong Island, the journey highlighted Cambodia’s potential as a destination for leisure, cultural and experiential tourism.
One of the first impressions for delegates was Cambodia’s smooth and efficient travel experience. The group experienced a quick visa-on-arrival process at Siem Reap, which was completed in less than three minutes.
In Siem Reap, delegates explored the world-famous Angkor Wat, one of Cambodia’s most iconic heritage sites. The visit highlighted the centuries-old cultural connections between India and Cambodia. A welcome dinner hosted at Hilton featured traditional Cambodian dance performances, offering visitors an insight into the country’s rich traditions.
Beyond heritage tourism, delegates also explored Cambodia’s food, nightlife and local experiences, discovering the destination’s value-for-money offerings and warm hospitality.
Exploring Cambodia’s Diverse Tourism Circuits
The itinerary also showcased emerging tourism circuits beyond Cambodia’s well-known attractions. While travelling towards Phnom Penh, delegates visited historical landmarks such as the centuries-old Naga Bridge, explored a regional marine park and enjoyed a dining experience at Farmhouse Resort & Spa.
A visit to the Smiling Gecko social project provided delegates with a deeper understanding of Cambodia’s community-based tourism and sustainable development initiatives.
In Phnom Penh, the delegation participated in B2B networking meetings with local tourism suppliers, creating opportunities for future collaborations between Indian travel companies and Cambodian businesses.
The cultural exploration continued with visits to the Royal Palace and the National Museum, where delegates witnessed rare historical artefacts, including ancient statues of Bali and Sugriva. These discoveries further highlighted the deep historical and cultural links between India and Cambodia.
The journey concluded with a visit to Koh Rong Island, where delegates experienced Cambodia’s pristine beaches, natural beauty and relaxed island lifestyle.
Strengthening India-Cambodia Tourism Relations
Delegates expressed strong appreciation for Cambodia’s hospitality, cultural heritage and tourism potential. They highlighted the destination’s easy accessibility, unique experiences and strong historical connection with India as major advantages for attracting Indian travellers.
The CTM 2026 India Special Edition FAM trip created a platform for stronger trade relationships between Indian travel partners and Cambodian tourism stakeholders. Through direct interactions, networking opportunities and destination experiences, the initiative aims to encourage future business collaborations and increase Indian tourist arrivals to Cambodia.
With its combination of heritage sites, natural landscapes, cultural experiences and modern tourism infrastructure, Cambodia is positioning itself as an attractive destination for India’s growing outbound travel market.
