The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote technological innovation in India’s maritime sector. The partnership aims to drive digitalisation, automation, cybersecurity, research and development, and technological advancements in the industry.
The MoU was signed by DGS Director General Shyam Jagannathan and C-DAC Director General E. Magesh. The collaboration will integrate C-DAC’s expertise in areas such as high-performance computing, cybersecurity, Blockchain, and e-Governance to modernise maritime processes.
Key initiatives under the MoU include the digitalisation and automation of maritime procedures, maritime data analytics, predictive modelling, and enhancing maritime education and training. The partnership is also focused on advancing maritime IoT and cybersecurity, addressing key challenges and opportunities in the sector.
This agreement marks a significant step in modernising India’s maritime administration and fostering a sustainable, advanced maritime ecosystem through technological collaboration and innovation.
