Mumbai: Author Chetan Bhagat unveiled Chiropractor & Physiotherapist, a book by Dr Rajneesh Kant, at an event in Mumbai. Published by TS Publication, the book aims to make chiropractic care, spinal health and related treatment concepts easier for general readers to understand.
One of the notable moments at the launch was a demonstration in which Dr Kant performed an adjustment technique on Bhagat’s wrist. Bhagat subsequently spoke about experiencing relief and appreciated the technique, according to the event organisers.
For Dr Kant, the occasion held personal significance. He shared that he had been reading Bhagat’s novels since childhood and had watched films adapted from his stories. Having the author unveil his book was therefore both a professional milestone and a memorable personal experience.
“I have been reading Chetan Bhagat’s novels since childhood and have also watched films based on his stories. Sharing the stage with him today and having him unveil my book is a matter of great privilege for me,” Dr Kant said.
Turning a Passion into a Purpose
Dr Kant described his professional journey as an effort to pursue work that reflects his interests and ambitions. Drawing inspiration from the message of the film 3 Idiots, which encourages people to follow their passion, he spoke about the satisfaction of working in a field he believes in and gaining recognition in India and abroad.
His broader goal is to raise awareness about chiropractic care and help people understand the possible causes of pain, the importance of appropriate clinical assessment and the treatment options available to them.
He also highlighted his vision of a “Pain-Free India”, emphasising the role of awareness and informed healthcare decisions. “A Pain-Free India is not just my dream; it is a collective commitment that we all share,” he said.
What does the book cover?
Chiropractor & Physiotherapist introduces readers to the fundamentals of chiropractic care, patient assessment, spinal health and practical aspects of treatment. Its ten chapters cover subjects ranging from sports-related care and precautions for senior citizens to patient education, self-care, clinic management and collaborative approaches to healthcare.
The book also introduces the RKM, or Rajneesh Kant Method, which Dr Kant presents as an approach developed through his professional experience. The first edition focuses on introducing chiropractic care and its applications, while a future publication is expected to examine his individual techniques in greater detail.
Dr Kant also discusses traditional Indian narratives associated with hands-on healing. He draws a personal connection between the story of Lord Krishna and Kubja and the broader idea of improving physical posture. This interpretation is presented as a cultural perspective rather than an established historical account of chiropractic practice.
The documented history of modern chiropractic is associated with Daniel David Palmer in the United States. Palmer performed an adjustment in 1895 and established the Palmer School of Chiropractic in 1897.
Healthcare awareness takes centre stage
The event was also attended by transgender spiritual leader and Jagadguru Mahamandaleshwar Himangi Sakhi Ji. Renowned physiotherapist Professor Dr Ali Irani extended his blessings and best wishes to Dr Kant.
The launch marked a significant moment in Dr Kant’s professional journey and his effort to make information about chiropractic care more accessible. By addressing spinal health, treatment approaches and patient awareness, the book seeks to encourage readers to ask informed questions about their health and understand the importance of seeking appropriate professional guidance.
