Fund a Child in India (FCI) successfully hosted its annual flagship event, “Draw Your Dreams”, a drawing competition held to celebrate Children’s Day with underprivileged children. The event aimed to provide a platform for school children from slums and NGO-run schools to showcase their creativity by illustrating their dreams, aspirations, and imagination. By encouraging children to express themselves through art, FCI sought to nurture talent and instill confidence among participants who rarely get such opportunities.
The celebration took place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Indoor Stadium of BMS College of Engineering, Basavanagudi, Bangalore, and was supported by more than 150 dedicated volunteers who assisted in organizing, coordinating, and mentoring the young participants. The competition witnessed a remarkable turnout of around 500 children from Grades 1 to 10, reflecting the enthusiasm and creative energy of the city’s underprivileged youth.
Participants included children from slum areas such as Cox Town-Doddigunta, Baiyappanahalli, and Srirampura, as well as students from NGO-run schools like Ark of the Rainbow, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, and Brightways School. The event encouraged inclusivity by welcoming children from diverse backgrounds and abilities, allowing them to express their personal visions and aspirations through art.
FCI extended its heartfelt gratitude to the main sponsor and host, BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), along with its leadership: Dr. P Dayanand Pai, Chairman, BMSCE & Life Trustee, BMSET; Dr. Bheemsha Arya, Principal, BMSCE; and Dr. Sakey Shamu, former Principal, BMSCE, who graciously attended the event as Chief Guests. Their presence and support added immense value and encouragement to the children.
Special recognition was also given to Better World, the Co-Sponsor, the NSS of BMSCE led by Dr. Sujatha, and all individual sponsors, donors, contributors, and volunteers who dedicated their time, resources, and energy to ensure the event’s success. Their collective efforts made the celebration vibrant, seamless, and memorable for all participants.
Through events like ‘Draw Your Dreams’, FCI continues to champion the cause of underprivileged children by fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression. The event was not only a celebration of Children’s Day but also a testament to the power of art to inspire hope, nurture talent, and bring together communities in support of young dreams.
