Bengaluru, India, 20 November 2025: GE Aerospace has announced a USD 14 million investment to expand capacity at its Pune manufacturing facility, marking a decade of successful operations at the site. This new investment builds on the USD 30 million announced last year, reinforcing GE Aerospace’s commitment to India and advanced aerospace manufacturing.
Vishwajit Singh, Managing Director of GE Aerospace’s Pune facility, said,
“Our Pune team has developed strong capabilities, delivering components for some of our most advanced commercial jet engines with safety and quality as top priorities. This investment underscores our dedication to the Make in India initiative and strengthens India’s role in global aerospace manufacturing.”
Since its inception, the Pune facility has evolved from a multi-business manufacturing site into a high-tech supplier of aerospace components for GE Aerospace’s commercial engine factories worldwide. Supported by a network of over 300 local suppliers (part of GE Aerospace’s 2,200+ suppliers across India), the facility has trained more than 5,000 production associates in precision manufacturing processes, contributing significantly to local talent development. The facility also holds ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, reflecting its focus on sustainability and operational excellence.
The expansion leverages FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model, which emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency. Through FLIGHT DECK, the Pune site has improved process efficiency, reduced waste, increased output, and enhanced shop-floor safety. On its new line for critical components, the facility has achieved shorter lead times, higher productivity, and minimized downtime.
