Google Adds ‘Undo’ Button to Gboard: Here’s How It Works

Google’s Gboard is set to introduce a much-anticipated ‘Undo’ button, allowing users to retrieve deleted text. Accessible via the overflow menu in the app’s Settings, the feature is part of version 14.9.06.x of the Gboard beta app, as reported by 9to5Google.

The ‘Undo’ button can be dragged to the suggestions row for quick access and lets users restore their last phrase or one letter at a time. Undo and Redo buttons can also be added to the Gboard strip with easily recognizable icons. Notably, the feature allows undoing typed text even after the keyboard is reopened, though exiting the application resets the memory, making Undo/Redo temporarily inaccessible.

With Gboard pre-installed on most Android devices, this update enhances its usability, addressing long-standing user demands. A public rollout of this feature is expected in the coming weeks.
