Actor, writer, producer and first time director Chirag M. Trivedi is gearing up for the release of his directorial debut, HEAT CITY: Antarpath Chapter 1. Ahead of the film’s theatrical release later this year, followed by its OTT premiere, the recently launched rap anthem “Sheher Hain Yeh Mumbai”, performed by Akshay Dhawan, has begun generating strong interest, particularly among younger audiences.
The high energy track captures the pulse of Mumbai while offering a glimpse into the intense world of HEAT CITY. According to Chirag, the response has been encouraging and reflects the song’s connection with the city’s youthful spirit.
Speaking about the reception, Chirag said that the song has been especially well received by younger listeners. He believes the track successfully represents the energy, resilience and fast paced lifestyle of Mumbai while also introducing the film’s gripping storyline centred on a fearless businessman who takes on the city’s ruthless mafia.
The idea for “Sheher Hain Yeh Mumbai” was conceived by Chirag himself. The song celebrates the city’s unique personality, where relentless ambition coexists with an equally vibrant culture of celebration and resilience. He said that what he admires most about Mumbai is its ability to maintain a balance between hard work and enjoying life, making it one of the most dynamic cities in the country.
Beyond directing the film, Chirag has also written the screenplay and plays the lead character, Veer Madhvani. Veer is portrayed as a legal luxury trader who refuses to allow smugglers to use his business for illegal operations. His firm stand against organised crime changes his life dramatically, forcing him into a dangerous confrontation with the city’s mafia.
As the story unfolds, Veer finds himself drawn into a world of crime, action and suspense where survival depends on matching the criminals on their own terms. The narrative promises a blend of emotional depth, high stakes action and unexpected twists.
Sharing his vision for the film, Chirag said he wanted to create a fresh and engaging crime drama with a protagonist driven by strong principles. However, circumstances eventually force Veer to fight back, leading to an intense and unpredictable journey.
HEAT CITY: Antarpath Chapter 1 features an ensemble cast that includes Chirag M. Trivedi, Jalak Motiwala, Priyank Pandav, Peeyush Patil, Muni Jha, Taj Sethi, Saachi Surve, Pratham Sharma, Gaurav Shivaji, Kishore Soni and Vihaan Choudhary.
Before making his directorial debut, Chirag built a reputation as a versatile actor across digital platforms. He portrayed the serial killer Asif opposite Tanuj Virwani in the Disney+ Hotstar series The Tattoo Murders, originally titled Kamathipura. He also received appreciation for playing former Indian cricket captain Rahul Dravid in Kaun Pravin Tambe?, produced by Friday Filmworks.
His work as a producer includes the Shemaroo Shorties projects Town in Dark and RUSA, a post apocalyptic science fiction mystery inspired by the mythology of Samudra Manthan.
With experience across acting, writing, producing and now directing, Chirag M. Trivedi is looking to present an ambitious crime drama that combines action, emotion and suspense. Set against the contrasting landscapes of Mumbai and Kenya, HEAT CITY: Antarpath Chapter 1 aims to offer audiences a fresh cinematic experience while the success of “Sheher Hain Yeh Mumbai” continues to build anticipation for the film’s release.
