IMDb has officially announced the Most Popular Indian Movies and Web Series of 2025, based on audience interest measured through actual page views from over 250 million monthly visitors worldwide. The year-end list reflects what viewers actively searched, explored, and engaged with on IMDb—making it a true indicator of audience-driven popularity, not industry hype.
For the fourth consecutive year, IMDb also honoured the creators and producers of the Top 10 Indian films and Top 10 Indian series with custom-made awards, recognising their impact across global audiences. Several filmmakers and actors took to social media to acknowledge the recognition and express gratitude to viewers.
The title of Most Popular Indian Movie of 2025 went to ‘Saiyaara’, directed by Mohit Suri. Celebrating the achievement, Suri described the recognition as being “#1, determined by fans,” reinforcing the audience-first nature of the ranking.
Director Ashwath Marimurthu, whose film ‘Dragon’ secured a spot in the Top 10, stated that audience choice ultimately defines a film’s success. He credited viewers who supported the film theatrically for making the achievement possible.
Dominic Arun, director of ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’, also acknowledged IMDb’s recognition, while actress Kalyani Priyadarshan shared her excitement, calling the moment both overwhelming and deeply rewarding.
Filmmaker R.S. Prasanna expressed gratitude for being featured among the Top 10 Directors of the Year, along with his film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ earning a place in the Top 10 movies list. Meanwhile, production house Sun Pictures highlighted the success of ‘Coolie’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, as it stormed into IMDb’s most popular films ranking.
According to IMDb, eligibility for the list included Indian titles released between January 1 and November 30, 2025, with an average user rating of 6 or higher.
