India has inaugurated the India-EFTA Trade Desk at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, to enhance economic ties with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and high-ranking officials from Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein, along with EFTA representatives, attended the launch on 10 February 2025.

The desk, established under Chapter 7 of the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) signed in March 2024, aims to facilitate trade, investment, and business collaboration. It will serve as a central support hub for EFTA companies looking to expand in India, providing market insights, regulatory guidance, and business matchmaking services.
Following the inauguration, a high-level EFTA-India Business Roundtable convened with over 100 companies from both sides. Key sectors of focus include pharmaceuticals, fintech, engineering, energy, maritime, food processing, and agritech. The roundtable aimed to foster joint ventures, investment opportunities, and technology partnerships under TEPA.
