Toyota’s Innova HyCross has earned a top-tier 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. This marks a major achievement for Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), reinforcing its focus on safety and reliability.
On 2 July 2025 in New Delhi, the safety certificate was presented to TKM by the Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways. The rating includes full marks for both adult and child occupant protection.
The Innova HyCross is built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA). This strong platform ensures structural rigidity and crash safety. The vehicle is also packed with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) features such as Pre-Collision System, Lane Trace Assist, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
Safety features also include:
- Six airbags across all grades
- ABS with EBD
- Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC)
- Hill-Start Assist
- Rear camera and parking sensors
- All-wheel disc brakes
- ISOFIX mounts for child seats
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
The car’s design prioritises safety without compromising on comfort or performance. Since its launch in November 2022, the HyCross has become a segment leader. With over 1,35,000 units sold, it’s one of India’s top choices for a family vehicle.
TKM says the Bharat NCAP rating is a strong endorsement of its safety-first approach. It aims to make advanced safety tech widely accessible. The company also aligns its goals with India’s push towards safer and more sustainable mobility.
