Maharashtra is set to witness a historic spiritual event this Sunday as 57 seekers collectively receive initiation for the first time in the state. The grand ceremony, marking a milestone in the Jain community, will be graced by eminent Jain Acharyas Somsundarsuriji, Shreyansprabhasuriji, and Yogatilaksuriji, adding profound spiritual significance to the occasion.
The 57 initiates include 18 men and 39 women hailing from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and even the United States. Inspired by the guidance of Acharya Yogatilaksuriji, all have chosen to renounce worldly life and embrace the path of spiritual discipline. Among the seekers, the youngest is a 7-year-old girl, while the eldest is 70 years old. Remarkably, over 15 highly educated young individuals, many with graduate degrees, are also taking this sacred step.
A 14,000-square-foot pandal has been erected at Panchsheel Plaza on Hughes Road, Mumbai, to host the ceremony, which is expected to draw over 3,000 devotees. The entire event is generously funded by philanthropist Shri Babulalji Mishrimalji Bhansali.
Acharya Yogatilaksuriji holds a distinguished place in Jain society. Over the past decade, he has conferred more than 350 initiations and currently mentors over 100 disciples a rare and revered achievement in Jain tradition. His guidance continues to inspire seekers across India and abroad.
The event promises to be a day of devotion, pride, and spiritual radiance, as Mumukshus and devotees witness a historic moment in Jainism. November 23, 2025, will be remembered as an inspiring milestone, celebrating the timeless values of renunciation, restraint, and spiritual awakening, even in today’s modern era.
