Kohrra returns for its second season with creator and writer Sudip Sharma at the helm once again. The investigative crime drama brings back Barun Sobti as assistant sub-inspector Amarpal Garundi, alongside Mona Singh, Rannvijay Singh, Pooja Bhamrrah, Anurag Arora, and Prayrak Mehta, who join the cast this season. In an exclusive chat with IMDb, Sudip Sharma, Faisal Rahman, Mona Singh, and Barun Sobti shared insights about the making of the new season.
Mona Singh discussed how she prepared for her role. “We had intense workshops. I met real female police officers in Punjab to understand how challenging it is to work in a male-dominated environment and still stand out. It wasn’t just workshops or meeting cops; it was also reading the script repeatedly and making it truly yours,” she explained.
Talking about her toughest day on set, Singh said, “It was a night shift. I was nervous, unsure of what was coming. Our action choreographer, Amrit Pal, asked if I had done action before. I said no, and he suggested starting from scratch. I was ready to learn. During our first shot, I was holding the gun, and Sudip sir whispered, ‘Mona, don’t look scared. Let’s do it again.’ That’s when I dived in and I loved every moment of it.”
Barun Sobti spoke about the expectations for Season 2. “Often, a good first season is followed by a second season that doesn’t live up to it. I wanted Kohrra Season 2 to surpass the first,” he said.
Sudip Sharma reflected on the long journey of making the show. “One shouldn’t take success or reviews too seriously. The pressure comes from the hard work we’ve put in. This has taken us two and a half years, from writing to production. If it doesn’t turn out well, it feels like a huge effort wasted. But we’ve aimed to give our best every step of the way,” he said.
With its returning cast and fresh additions, Kohrra Season 2 promises to be an intense, gripping continuation of the investigative saga, combining realistic performances, meticulous preparation, and high-stakes drama.
