The flood crisis is hitting farmers
Heavy rains have triggered flash floods and landslides across north India, destroying crops and livelihoods. In Punjab, the worst floods since 1988 have affected 12 districts, with rivers like the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi overflowing, impacting over 2.56 lakh people and claiming 29 lives. In Himachal Pradesh, landslides have closed over 1,000 roads, and in Uttarakhand, heavy showers have worsened conditions. Farmers in these states are facing huge losses, with fields flooded and harvests ruined, making Gandhi’s call for relief timely and critical.
