The National Association for the Blind (NAB), Anand Niketan, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai, recently hosted a special celebration to mark the birthday of India’s renowned industrialist and philanthropist, Ratan Tata. The event was organized by K. Ravi (Dada), Managing Director of India Media Link & Events Management. Alok Kumar Kasliwal, owner of S. Kumar Group, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while celebrated musician Ravindra Jain attended as the guest of honour.
A highlight of the event was the inauguration of a selfie point dedicated to Ratan Tata, allowing attendees to capture memories of the celebration. Several dignitaries, including actors Bobby Vats, Balasaheb Gaikwad, Suresh Ji, and Pritam Athawale, joined the event, adding to its festive and inspiring atmosphere.
K. Ravi Dada took the opportunity to convey a meaningful social message. He urged citizens to switch off their lights for ten minutes every year on December 28, Ratan Tata’s birthday, to save electricity and help Tata Power supply affordable energy across Mumbai and other regions with limited access. Speaking about his long-standing efforts, Ravi Dada said, “India Media Link & Events Management has been active for 26 years. Over this time, we have given ordinary citizens and tribal communities helicopter tours of Mumbai and arranged similar experiences for 200 children from hospitals, including Tata Cancer Hospital. Our vision is always big; we aim to display Ratan Tata’s image on Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and host a special event called ‘Ratan Tata ki Jayanti mein, Lahron Ki Masti Mein’ on January 28, 2026.”
Chief guest Alok Kumar Kasliwal shared an emotional message, highlighting the importance of eye care and vision improvement for the visually impaired. He encouraged practices like eating green vegetables, spending time in sunlight, and performing eye yoga to maintain eye health. He also committed to supporting employment opportunities for the visually impaired in reputable corporate organisations.
Advocate Yadav praised K. Ravi Dada for his dedication to empowering visually impaired individuals. Actor Bobby Vats acknowledged Ratan Tata’s contribution to multiple fields and lauded Ravi Dada’s efforts in organising the event. Ravindra Jain suggested that any new airport built in the future should be named after Ratan Tata.
K. Ravi Dada, a dancer, singer, and long-time Bollywood associate, expressed gratitude to Anand Niketan and Alok Kumar Kasliwal for their support. The event’s PR was handled efficiently by Ramakant Munde of Munde Media.
The celebration successfully combined tribute, social awareness, and a message of empowerment for the visually impaired, making it a memorable homage to Ratan Tata’s legacy.
