A total of 942 brave individuals from the Police, Fire, Home Guard & Civil Defence, and Correctional Services were honoured with Gallantry and Service Medals for their remarkable courage and exceptional service. The awards highlight the unwavering commitment of these personnel in safeguarding the nation.
Gallantry Medals:
95 Gallantry Medals awarded, with 78 going to Police and 17 to Fire Service personnel for acts of extraordinary bravery in saving lives and apprehending criminals.
Notable recognitions include 28 personnel from Left Wing Extremism-affected areas and 28 from Jammu & Kashmir.
Service Medals:
President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM): 101 awards, including 85 to Police, 5 to Fire Service, and others across various services.
Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM): 746 awards, with Police personnel receiving the highest number, followed by Fire Service, Civil Defence, and Correctional Services.
