TKM’s 33rd iCARE event highlights the company’s commitment to social responsibility through impactful initiatives like lake clean-ups, infrastructure upgrades, and educational murals. This event is part of their ongoing CSR efforts for the 2024-25 financial year.
This initiative aligns with International Education Month and underscores TKM’s dedication to holistic community development. By promoting a ‘learn by doing’ approach, the programme aims to nurture problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity among students.
Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice
Interactive STEM kits were at the heart of this programme. These tools provided students with hands-on opportunities to explore scientific concepts practically. They also enriched classroom learning by connecting theory with real-world applications. For under-resourced schools, the kits offered valuable resources to spark curiosity and innovation. By integrating such tools into education, TKM helps young learners build a strong foundation for academic and professional success.
Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer, Senior Vice President & Head of State Affairs at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, highlighted the programme’s significance:
“The iCARE programme reflects our unwavering commitment to creating meaningful change in the communities we serve. STEM education is crucial for cultivating curiosity, innovation, and real-world problem-solving skills in students. By bridging the gap between theory and practical understanding, these tools empower young minds to think creatively and apply their knowledge effectively. The overwhelming participation from our volunteers and students reinforces the power of collaboration to inspire lasting impact.”
A Holistic Approach to Community Empowerment
The 33rd iCARE event is part of TKM’s broader social responsibility initiatives for the 2024–25 financial year. Earlier in 2024, TKM conducted a clean-up drive at Irregowdana Lake in Bidadi. They also upgraded infrastructure at GHS Ullal Upanagara in Kengeri and created educational murals at GHS Kannahalli.
Since iCARE began in 2017, over 3,000 volunteers have participated in 33 impactful events. These initiatives have touched the lives of more than 67,600 community members. Activities range from environmental conservation to educational enhancement, all driven by TKM’s commitment to sustainable development.
Looking Ahead
As TKM builds on the success of the iCARE programme, it remains dedicated to empowering communities and inspiring positive change. By encouraging employees to participate in meaningful initiatives, TKM reinforces its mission to create a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
