Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reinforced its dedication to Karnataka’s sustainable growth and industrial progress at the Invest Karnataka 2025 Global Investors Meet (GIM), being held between 11-14 February in Bengaluru. The event, themed ‘Reimagining Growth’, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and investors to explore opportunities in sustainability and innovation.
TKM is a key player in Karnataka’s industrial landscape for over 25 years. It was honoured with an ‘Investment Certificate’ for its new third manufacturing plant, announced in November 2023. The plant will increase production capacity by 1,00,000 units annually and create 2,000 new jobs, further strengthening Karnataka’s position as a manufacturing hub.
At the event, TKM showcased its leadership in sustainable mobility through the Future of Innovation Pavilion and sponsored VentuRISE, an initiative supporting startups in EV technology, clean mobility, and advanced manufacturing. The company also hosted three experience zones:
1. Sustainability pavilion: Highlighting Toyota’s Environmental Challenge 2050 and green manufacturing initiatives.
2. Green Technology Zone: Featuring xEV technology, hybrid systems, and the latest hybrid electric models like the All-New Camry and Corolla FFV-SHEV.
3. Skill Development and CSR Initiatives: Showcasing TKM’s contributions to Skill India, Make in India, and community development programmes.
Manasi N. Tata, Vice Chairperson, TKM, emphasised the company’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity. “Karnataka has been the foundation of our growth in India, and we are committed to giving back through industrial progress and clean mobility solutions,” she said.
Swapnesh Maru, Deputy Managing Director, TKM, highlighted the company’s multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality. “Our vision is to create a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive future, aligning with India’s goals for sustainable growth,” he added.
TKM has invested ₹16,000 crores in Karnataka, with an additional ₹4,000 crores under execution, including the new plant. The company is also enhancing skill development through initiatives like the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI), which has expanded to 1,200 students, including 600 women. TKM’s collaboration with 49 ITIs and 16 Government Tool Room and Training Centers (GTTC) has trained nearly 3,000 students, with plans to expand to 88 institutes by 2026.
