As World Sleep Day approaches on March 13, Westin Hotels & Resorts is reaffirming its commitment to wellness by placing quality rest at the centre of the travel experience. The brand, part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, is introducing a series of immersive sleep-focused programmes across its properties in Asia Pacific excluding China.
For more than a decade, Westin has championed well-being through its three core pillars: Sleep Well, Eat Well, and Move Well. At the heart of the brand’s sleep philosophy is the iconic Heavenly® Bed, which features specially designed mattresses, plush pillows, and premium linens created to deliver optimal comfort. Complementing the sleep experience are signature elements such as the Sleep Well Lavender Balm, infused with calming essential oils, and the Sleep Well Menu that offers nutritious, sleep-supportive meals through in-room dining.
Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer for Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, said the brand views sleep as an essential part of overall well-being rather than a simple overnight necessity. He added that Westin aims to help travellers disconnect from the stresses of the road and experience meaningful rest, making World Sleep Day an ideal moment to highlight the brand’s long-standing commitment to restorative travel.
To mark the occasion, Westin hotels across the region are introducing wellness-led activities that combine expert guidance with cultural practices designed to promote better sleep.
At The Westin Manila, the celebration forms part of the hotel’s first Wellness Weekend from March 13 to 15. The programme includes Sonic Reset sessions using advanced audio technology, sleep education talks led by sleep medicine expert Dr Jimmy Chang, and a series of wellness activities such as breathwork sessions, floating sound baths, meditation, yoga, and Qigong classes.
In Australia, The Westin Brisbane is hosting The Sleep Reset, a curated experience developed in collaboration with wellness brand KAILO. The programme blends discussions on sleep science with Yin Yoga sessions, guided relaxation, and nutrition-focused culinary offerings designed to support recovery and relaxation.
Meanwhile, The Westin Singapore is presenting an immersive 9D Breathwork session that combines breathwork techniques with sound therapy to encourage deep relaxation. In Bangkok, The Westin Grande Sukhumvit is offering Wind-Down Flow sessions for in-house guests, focusing on gentle stretching and breathing practices to ease travel fatigue.
Other hotels across Malaysia and the Maldives are also participating with wellness experiences such as guided meditation, sound healing, herbal tea rituals, and tranquil spaces designed for rest.
With the growing popularity of wellness travel and sleep tourism, Westin’s World Sleep Day programmes aim to transform rest into a holistic journey that helps guests recharge both physically and mentally
