Modern healthcare today is no longer defined only by advanced procedures or cutting-edge technology. It is equally measured by empathy, dignity, and the ability to support patients through every emotional and physical challenge of their journey. Reflecting this evolving approach, Fortis Hospital Mulund has launched ‘BreastCare 360’, a comprehensive breast health programme unveiled on World Cancer Day 2026.
Designed as an end-to-end solution, BreastCare 360 brings together prevention, early detection, treatment, reconstruction, and long-term recovery under one integrated framework. The initiative aims to ensure that patients do not have to navigate fragmented services or multiple centres during what is often one of the most vulnerable phases of their lives.
At the heart of the programme is a multidisciplinary care model, where specialists across surgical oncology, radiology, medical oncology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, genetics, and counselling collaborate closely. Consultant Surgical Oncologist Dr Raj Kapadia, who is leading the initiative, emphasises that the programme looks beyond clinical success. According to him, breast cancer treatment should not end with disease management alone. Restoring confidence, body image, and emotional strength is equally essential to true recovery.
BreastCare 360 is supported by advanced diagnostic and screening facilities, including digital mammography, high-resolution imaging through 3T MRI, genetic testing, and specialised counselling services. These tools enable early and accurate diagnosis, improving treatment outcomes and helping patients make informed decisions at every stage.
A key differentiator of the programme is its strong focus on reconstruction and aesthetic restoration. Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr Rachna Tataria explains that breast health care today must address the psychological impact of treatment. By integrating reconstructive options during or after cancer surgery, the programme helps patients regain a sense of wholeness and confidence, easing the transition back to everyday life.
Importantly, BreastCare 360 is inclusive in its scope. While breast health is often associated primarily with women, the programme also caters to men, addressing conditions such as gynecomastia and male breast cancer with equal expertise and sensitivity.
Facility Director Dr Vishal Bery notes that the initiative reflects Fortis Hospital Mulund’s broader patient-first philosophy. By offering comprehensive care under one roof, the hospital aims to reduce stress, improve continuity of treatment, and ensure emotional support alongside medical excellence.
With BreastCare 360, Fortis Hospital Mulund underscores a powerful message. Modern healthcare is not just about curing illness. It is about walking with patients through uncertainty, helping them heal with dignity, and empowering them to reclaim their confidence and quality of life.
