Cancer is often seen as one of the most daunting diagnoses, bringing with it fear, uncertainty, and emotional strain. However, when treatment is accessible, reliable, and delivered with compassion, that fear can gradually give way to hope. Strengthening this vision, MOC Cancer Care & Research Centre has launched its new state-of-the-art facility in Vashi, aimed at offering not just advanced medical care but also emotional support for patients and their families.
This newly inaugurated centre marks a significant milestone in MOC’s journey. It is the organisation’s 10th facility in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and its 27th across India. At a time when cancer cases continue to rise, such expansion plays a crucial role in improving access to timely and effective treatment. For many patients, proximity to a trusted healthcare facility can make a life-changing difference.
The Vashi centre is equipped with a wide range of advanced oncology services, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care under one roof. These services include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and bone marrow transplants. By bringing together multiple treatment options in one location, the centre aims to simplify the patient journey and reduce the stress associated with travelling between different facilities.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Devendra Pal, Medical Oncologist, highlighted the importance of a balanced approach to cancer care. He stated that while technology plays a vital role, compassion remains equally essential in the healing process. According to him, the goal is to provide treatment that is not only clinically effective but also emotionally supportive.
Dr. Kasturi Baruah also emphasised the need to make cancer treatment more accessible. She pointed out that delays in treatment, often caused by distance or financial challenges, can significantly impact patient outcomes. The new facility, she noted, aims to bridge these gaps and ensure that more patients can begin their treatment without unnecessary hurdles.
MOC’s CEO, Manish Jobanputra, reiterated the organisation’s patient-first philosophy. He explained that the centre has been designed with a strong focus on accessibility, affordability, and quality care. The idea is to create an environment where patients feel supported at every stage of their journey, from diagnosis to recovery.
Beyond medical treatment, the centre also aims to provide a sense of reassurance and dignity to patients. Cancer care is not just about physical healing but also about addressing emotional and psychological needs. By integrating these aspects into its approach, MOC continues to redefine what holistic cancer care looks like.
With this expansion, MOC Cancer Care & Research Centre reinforces its commitment to delivering world-class oncology services while keeping humanity at the core. The Vashi facility stands as a beacon of hope, offering patients not just treatment, but a renewed sense of strength and possibility.
