Environmental conservation remains a pressing global concern, and visual art continues to be a compelling medium for raising awareness. On his visit to Nidhi Choudhari’s art exhibition at Mumbai’s prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery, Aaditya Thackeray, MLA from Worli, praised the paintings by the IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre and Director of the National Gallery of Art, Mumbai. He noted that Choudhari’s works not only delivered a powerful message about environmental protection but also depicted the stark realities of today’s world.

Thackeray visited the exhibition, which concluded on 22 June, and expressed admiration for Choudhari’s artwork, which demonstrated a profound social consciousness. Balancing her demanding administrative duties with her passion for art, Nidhi Choudhari used her creative expressions to highlight environmental issues. The exhibition featured 40 paintings centred on themes of environmental conservation, afforestation, and globally recognised folk stories and narratives celebrating nature.
The artworks showcased a deep love for nature and a keen sensitivity to ecological challenges, while also weaving in the philosophies of notable leaders. Thackeray remarked that the art engaged viewers directly, inspiring meaningful reflection.
