AMS has announced the expansion of its India-based Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune, reinforcing the country’s growing importance as a global talent hub. The move comes as the company scales its India workforce to meet rising demand across key international markets, including EMEA, APAC, the Americas, and the UK.
India has steadily emerged as a preferred destination for Global Capability Centres, with more than 1,700 GCCs currently operating in the country. This number is projected to grow to nearly 2,500 by 2030. Companies are no longer choosing India solely for cost advantages. Instead, they are leveraging its deep talent pool, digital expertise, and ability to deliver scalable global services.
AMS’ expansion aligns with this broader trend. The Pune GCC currently employs around 330 professionals and is expected to grow to over 400 by the end of 2026. Further expansion will take place in phases, depending on client demand and the company’s global growth strategy. The centre will play a key role in delivering client services, including recruitment process outsourcing sourcing and administration, business intelligence, market insights, and talent intelligence.
The facility will also focus on analytics-led execution and digital enablement, operating on a 24×5 model to support global teams. By strengthening its India presence, AMS aims to improve operational continuity, scalability, and cost efficiency while delivering integrated workforce solutions to clients worldwide.
Gordon Stuart, CEO of AMS, highlighted India’s rising strategic importance in the global business landscape. He said the country is increasingly becoming the backbone for organisations looking to build resilient and future-ready operating models. With GCCs employing nearly two million professionals and a rapidly expanding talent ecosystem, India offers both capability and innovation.
He added that AMS’ Pune expansion reflects its long-term commitment to building India-led global delivery capabilities. As demand for skills-based hiring and AI-driven recruitment continues to rise, India is expected to remain central to the company’s service delivery strategy. The vision, he noted, is to position India as a critical hub for AMS’ global growth journey.
The decision to expand in Pune followed a detailed review of six Indian cities. The city was chosen due to its strong talent ecosystem, stable cost structures, and well-established enterprise environment. Its proximity to Mumbai further enhances its appeal as a business hub.
Pune has seen consistent growth in technology, analytics, and business services talent, making it an attractive destination for organisations building global operations. The project began in 2024 with leadership hiring and capability development.
The next phase will focus on expanding specialised capabilities, strengthening analytics-driven services, and supporting global clients with more integrated and efficient talent solutions.
