PM-KISAN, launched on 24th February 2019, provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmer families. Since its inception, ₹3.46 lakh crore has been transferred through 18 instalments, benefiting over 11 crore farmer families. The 19th instalment will provide ₹22,000 crore in financial aid to more than 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.41 crore women, through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Financial Assistance and Impact

During the 18th instalment release, 9.6 crore farmers received payments. The government has identified and included more eligible farmers. Bihar has received ₹25,497 crore through previous instalments, benefiting 86.56 lakh farmers. The 19th instalment will transfer ₹1,591 crore to 76.37 lakh Bihar farmers, increasing the total benefit to ₹27,088 crore.
Bhagalpur has received ₹813.87 crore across 18 instalments. The 19th instalment will provide ₹51.22 crore to 2.48 lakh beneficiaries, raising Bhagalpur’s total disbursed amount to ₹865.09 crore.
Nationwide Awareness Programmes
To mark the occasion, the Ministry of Agriculture will organise a “Kisan Samman Samaroh” at state, district, block, and gram panchayat levels. Parallel programmes will occur at 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across India. Agriculture ministers, MPs, and MLAs will participate in local events, where agricultural machinery and seed kits will be distributed under various schemes, including the Oilseed Mission and Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.
Exhibitions on natural and organic farming, along with Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged products, will promote sustainable practices. These exhibitions will continue for two to three days after the main event to encourage new farming technologies.
Live Broadcast and Digital Initiatives
The event will be broadcast live on DD Kisan and streamed on MyGov, YouTube, Facebook, and over five lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) across India. Around 2.5 crore farmers are expected to participate in person or virtually.
Additional Infrastructure and Agricultural Initiatives
Alongside the PM-KISAN release, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate several projects in Bihar, including:
- A ₹113.27 crore dairy product plant at Barauni Dairy with a 2-lakh-litre-per-day milk processing capacity.
- A ₹33.80 crore Regional Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Motihari under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission to enhance cattle breeding and dairy productivity.
- The 10,000th Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO), marking the completion of the 2020-launched scheme with a ₹6,865 crore budget.
- The ₹526 crore doubling of the Warisaliganj–Nawadah–Tilaiya rail section and the ₹47 crore Ismailpur–Rafiganj Road Over Bridge to improve connectivity.
Strengthening Digital Infrastructure for Farmers
PM-KISAN has leveraged digital infrastructure for seamless and transparent fund transfers. Digital verification through PFMS, UIDAI, and Income Tax portals has improved efficiency and eliminated middlemen. The scheme’s trust-based model, relying on farmers’ self-certification and state verification, has further streamlined the process.
The 19th instalment release marks six years of PM-KISAN, reaffirming the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and agricultural growth.
