The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, hosted the National Association of Impact Leaders (NAIL) Meet 2025 in Goa. This landmark event brought together ESG professionals, policymakers, and thought leaders to discuss corporate sustainability, governance frameworks, and green technology adoption in India.
Setting the tone for an insightful dialogue, Prof. Garima Dadhich, Associate Professor and Head, School of Business Environment, IICA, emphasised the need to align organisational strategies with evolving global frameworks. She highlighted how ESG leadership in India is shaping the future of responsible business practices.
A key session featured Ms. Aruna C. Newton, Vice President of Infosys Limited, who discussed governance frameworks for accelerating green technology adoption. Another crucial segment was led by a UNICEF representative, offering insights into the social dimensions of Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) Core and ethical business conduct.
A panel discussion moderated by Prof. Dadhich engaged distinguished NAIL members in deliberating on regulatory transformations, including SEBI’s new norms, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the dissolution of SASB and TCFD. The session shed light on challenges and opportunities in the corporate sector. Additionally, a senior SEBI official provided key insights into the ESG rating landscape, investor expectations, and compliance strategies for businesses.
Further highlighting the role of technology in ESG leadership in India, KPMG India’s Senior Expert-ESG Practice showcased the impact of artificial intelligence in ESG data analytics and reporting. Experts from WRI India and CEEW-CEF followed up with discussions on greenhouse gas accounting methodologies and the significance of carbon markets in achieving a net-zero future.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dadhich, followed by a networking session where attendees exchanged ideas on sustainable finance, ESG audits, decarbonisation strategies, and business-biodiversity integration. During the event, IICA also announced the 3rd edition of its flagship ESG conference, the National Conference on Responsible Business Conduct (NCRBC), scheduled for 2nd-3rd July 2025, with registrations opening in March 2025.
