Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rising North-East Investors Summit, spotlighting the region’s growing role in India’s economic roadmap.
Held at New Delhi’s iconic Bharat Mandapam, the summit drew investors, policymakers, and industry leaders. Modi called the North-East the new front-runner of India’s growth journey.
From trade to tradition, NE is packed with promise
“From trade to tradition, textile to tourism, North-East is the most diverse part of India,” Modi said, highlighting its immense potential.
He noted how the region is flourishing in sectors like organic farming, handlooms, and handicrafts. Tourism, backed by natural beauty and improving infrastructure, is booming too.
Big leap ahead for regional trade
Modi predicted a manifold rise in North-East trade over the next decade. The region, once seen as peripheral, is now central to India’s trade strategy.
He said policies like the Act East Policy and infrastructure upgrades are transforming the region into India’s gateway to Southeast Asia.
Youth & innovation lead the charge
Modi praised the youth of the region for leading in innovation from eco-tourism to tech startups. He added that fashion, food, and music from the North-East are now gaining global attention.
Call to investors: region is ready
With improved logistics, reforms, and connectivity, the region is now investor-ready. Modi said the North-East is one of India’s most dynamic and diverse growth engines.
He invited both domestic and global investors to seize the opportunities unfolding in the region.
