Founded in 2001 by visionary duo Anu Ranjan and Shashi Ranjan, the ITA has grown into a respected institution honouring storytelling excellence. Every award it presents carries the spirit of passion, dedication, and purpose.
“Television isn’t just what we watch, it’s what we feel, what we share, and how we connect. The ITA is proud to have been part of that emotional journey,” says Anu Ranjan.
From iconic family dramas that echoed across households to bold digital experiments that reshaped content, the ITA has celebrated each milestone in television’s evolution, and every individual behind it.

In the early years of the ITA, Ekta Kapoor once held the trophy and said,
“This is not just an award… this is the Oscars of Indian Television.”
That moment still resonates, not just with her, but with the entire industry. Because the ITA doesn’t just honour success, it celebrates shared dreams.
“We’ve witnessed the industry evolve, break boundaries, and unite, and the ITA has grown alongside it. It’s not only about who wins, but about who we’ve become together,” shares Shashi Ranjan.
