Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABD) has achieved a significant milestone by winning the Best Factory/Management Award for its integrated manufacturing facility at Rangapur in Wanaparthy district, Telangana. The recognition was conferred by the Labour, Employment, Training & Factories Department of the Telangana government during the International Labour Day celebrations held on May 1, 2026.
The Rangapur facility stands as one of ABD’s most important production hubs, reflecting the company’s commitment to efficiency, innovation, and quality. The integrated unit includes an Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) distillery, an Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) bottling plant, and a PET bottle manufacturing unit that was commissioned in September 2025. This comprehensive infrastructure enables ABD to maintain better control over its production processes, optimise costs, and streamline supply chain operations.
Further strengthening its capabilities, the company is planning to add a malt distillery to the facility. This upcoming expansion is expected to enhance ABD’s premium product portfolio and support its ambitions in the single malt segment, a category that continues to grow in demand across domestic and global markets.
Beyond production excellence, the Rangapur facility has also emerged as a key contributor to local employment and community development. With a workforce of approximately 1,500 employees, the unit reflects a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Notably, women make up nearly 50 per cent of the workforce, highlighting the company’s efforts to create an inclusive and balanced work environment.
The establishment of such a large-scale manufacturing unit has also opened up new avenues for skilled and semi-skilled employment in the region. By providing stable job opportunities and promoting industrial growth, the facility has contributed significantly to the local economy and improved livelihoods in surrounding communities.
The Best Factory/Management Award is part of the district-level May Day honours and aligns with the Government of India’s broader focus on building a skilled and compliant workforce under the Skill India initiative. The selection process for the award involved a detailed evaluation of several parameters, including workplace safety standards, statutory compliance, employee welfare practices, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
ABD’s recognition underscores its commitment to maintaining high operational standards while ensuring the well-being of its workforce. The company’s ability to combine manufacturing excellence with social responsibility has positioned it as a leading player in India’s spirits industry.
