Google has unveiled its latest architectural feat, a state-of-the-art campus named ‘Ananta’ in Bengaluru. Spanning an impressive 1.6 million square feet, this facility is one of the company’s largest globally, highlighting its dedication to fostering innovation and supporting India’s growing digital economy. The newly inaugurated Ananta campus in Mahadevapura, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, is one of Google’s largest offices globally. Designed to accommodate over 5,000 tech professionals, the facility strengthens Google’s presence in India, where the company currently employs around 10,000 people.

A Name with Deep Meaning
The name ‘Ananta,’ derived from Sanskrit, translates to ‘infinite’ or ‘limitless,’ symbolising boundless innovation and a future-driven approach. Located in a key tech hub of Bengaluru, the campus is designed to facilitate cutting-edge developments and collaboration.
Design That Blends Innovation and Functionality
The campus features a unique layout inspired by city planning, with interconnected “neighbourhoods” fostering teamwork while providing quiet zones for deep work. A central highlight is the ‘Sabha’—a large amphitheatre-style space designed for discussions, knowledge-sharing, and community engagement.
Sustainability and Local Influence
Inspired by Bengaluru’s reputation as the ‘Garden City,’ the campus integrates lush green spaces, walking paths, and breakout areas to promote well-being. Sustainability is at its core, featuring 100% wastewater recycling, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient electro-chromic glass installations—one of the largest such setups in the country.
Strengthening India’s Tech Future
This milestone reflects a significant investment in India’s technological landscape. The new campus will host teams working across various domains, including AI, cloud computing, search, maps, and fintech. With space for over 5,000 employees, it is poised to become a hub for groundbreaking advancements.
Beyond just an office, this new workspace stands as a testament to long-term commitment, showcasing a vision that aligns with India’s growing influence in the global digital economy.
