Ahead of the Janmashtami celebrations, the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) has launched the ‘Krishna Leela’ Tour Package to make spiritual travel across the Braj region more convenient and affordable for devotees.
The three-day, two-night tour connects the sacred towns of Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul and Barsana. It offers travellers a curated pilgrimage experience covering some of the region’s most prominent religious and cultural landmarks. The tour will depart from Lucknow at 8:00 a.m.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the initiative reflects the vision of the ‘Visit My State Uttar Pradesh’ campaign. He said the package aims to encourage visitors to explore Uttar Pradesh’s rich spiritual heritage and further strengthen the Krishna-Braj Circuit.
According to Singh, Mathura recorded more than 10.24 crore tourists in 2025. More than 4.4 million visitors also attended Braj Rangotsav 2025. In the first three months of 2026, nearly 1.90 crore tourists visited the region.
These figures, he said, highlight the growing importance of Braj as a spiritual tourism destination in the country. The new package is intended to make pilgrimage travel more accessible while providing visitors with an organised travel experience.
The package has been designed for families and small groups. Travellers can choose between air-conditioned Sedan and Crysta vehicles. A minimum of two persons is required to book the package.
The Sedan package is priced at ₹10,400 per person, while the Crysta package costs ₹10,150 per person. The package includes accommodation, breakfast, light refreshments, high tea, guided sightseeing, local transfers and support services.
Lunch and dinner are not included in the package and will have to be paid for separately.
The three-day itinerary covers several important religious sites across Braj. On the first day, visitors will explore Banke Bihari Temple, Rang Ji Temple, Nidhivan, Vaishno Devi Temple and Akshaya Patra Temple in Vrindavan.
The second day takes visitors to Mathura. The itinerary includes Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, Dwarkadheesh Temple, Vishram Ghat, Bhuteshwar Temple and Govardhan.
On the final day, travellers will visit Radha Rani Temple in Barsana, ISKCON Temple and Shri Radha Damodar Temple. The journey will then conclude with the return to Lucknow.
Chairman of UPSTDC, Amrit Abhijat, said the ‘Krishna Leela’ Tour Package has been designed to provide visitors with a seamless pilgrimage experience. He said the package also aims to showcase the spiritual, cultural and historical richness of the Braj region through professionally curated tourism services.
The launch comes ahead of Janmashtami, when devotees from different parts of the country travel to Mathura, Vrindavan and other parts of Braj. By combining transportation, accommodation, sightseeing and support services, the package seeks to simplify travel for families and small groups visiting the region.
