GOLD Apr-25 futures contract gains by 0.5% and SILVER Mar-25 futures contract gains by 0.35%, while CRUDEOIL Feb-25 futures contract gains by 0.07%

India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.115496.94 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 17 February 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11374.71 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 104122.23 crores (notional).
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 8044.52 crores. GOLD Apr-25 contract was up by 0.5% to Rs. 85110 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Feb-25 contract was up by 0.31% to Rs. 68836 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Feb-25 contract was up by 0.4% to Rs. 8580 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Mar-25 contract was up by 0.48% to Rs. 84740 per 10 gram.
SILVER Mar-25 contract was up by 0.35% to Rs. 95918 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was up by 0.33% to Rs. 95725 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.35% to Rs. 95727 per kg.
Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2958.00 crores with volume of 3477 lots and OI of 16888 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2221.07 crores with volume of 7721 lots and OI of 26996 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1546.91 crores. COPPER Feb-25 contract was down by 0.14% to Rs. 863.7 per kg and ZINC Feb-25 contract was up by 0.47% to Rs. 267.7 per kg while ALUMINIUM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.37% to Rs. 257 per kg and LEAD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.53% to Rs. 180.15 per kg.
Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1057.31 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 152.11 crores, Lead futures Rs. 29.51 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 211.65 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1799.85 crores. CRUDEOIL Feb-25 contract was up by 0.07% to Rs. 6153 per BBL while NATURALGAS Feb-25 contract was down by 2.38% to Rs. 316.1 per MMBTU.
Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 579.60 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 969.76 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL Feb-25 contract was down by 0.11% to Rs. 914 per kg .
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 104122.23 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 726.75 crores.
Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was down by 42.86% to Rs. 12.00 with volume of 177328 lots & OI of 20711 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.6150 was down by 31.48% to Rs. 25.9 with volume of 141546 lots & OI of 12323 lots.
Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was down by 42.97% to Rs. 7.10 with volume of 18824 lots & OI of 7150 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was up by 35.87% to Rs. 6.25 with volume of 16455 lots & OI of 6571 lots.
Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.86000 was up by 23.16% to Rs. 460.00 with volume of 1798 lots & OI of 746 lots, while Gold Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.84000 was down by 15.8% to Rs. 485 with volume of 1614 lots & OI of 953 lots.
Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 2.05% to Rs. 1652.00 with volume of 2297 lots & OI of 1240 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 16.54% to Rs. 943.5 with volume of 2774 lots & OI of 864 lots.
