Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX April-2025 futures reaches at 20974: MCX records turnover of Rs.178048 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.814080 crores in Options during the week of March 28 to April 3.
India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.992149.72 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX during the week of March 28 to April 3. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs.178048.89 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs.814080.39 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 20974.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs.138434.04 crores during the week. MCX GOLD June-2025 futures opened at Rs 89712, touched an all-time high of Rs 91423 during the week and touched a low of Rs 88727 and closed the week at Rs 90057 per 10 gram, up by Rs 752 or 0.84 per cent as against its previous close of Rs 89305. GOLD-GUINEA April-2025 futures ended the week at Rs 72381 per 8 gram, up by Rs 677 or 0.94 %, and GOLD-PETAL April-2025 futures ended the week at Rs 9097 per 1 gram, up by Rs 73 or 0.81 %. GOLD-MINI May-2025 futures opened at Rs 88999 at the beginning of the week, and reached an intra-day high of Rs 90937 and a low of Rs 88512 during the week. At the end of the week, this contract rose by Rs 947 or 1.07 % to reach Rs 89763 per 10 gram. GOLD-TEN April-2025 futures opened at Rs 90504 per 10 gram at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs 92494 and a low of Rs 88932 during the week and closed the week down by Rs 861 or 0.95 per cent at Rs 90065 per 10 gram as against its previous close of Rs 90926.
Among SILVER futures, SILVER May-2025 futures opened at Rs 101689 at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs 102040 and a low of Rs 93875 during the week and closed the week at Rs 94399 per kg, down by Rs 6914 or 6.82 per cent. Apart from these, SILVER-MINI April-2025 futures fell by Rs 6708 or 6.63 per cent to Rs 94463 per kg at the end of the week. While SILVER-MICRO April-2025 futures fell by Rs 6678 or 6.6 per cent to Rs 94483 per kg at the end of the week.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs.10641.13 crores during the week. COPPER April-2025 contract was down by Rs.35.35 or 3.92% to Rs.866.25 per kg and ZINC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.14.6 or 5.35% to Rs.258.1 per kg while ALUMINIUM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.12.75 or 5.08% to Rs.238.45 per kg and LEAD April-2025 contract was down by Rs.3.8 or 2.09% to Rs.178.25 per kg.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs.28960.06 crores during the week. MCX CRUDE OIL April-2025 futures opened the week at Rs 6004, touched an intra-day high of Rs 6182 and a low of Rs 5645 during the week and closed the week at Rs 5735 per barrel, down by Rs 260 or 4.34 per cent. While CRUDE OIL-MINI April-2025 futures fell by Rs 255 or 4.25 per cent to Rs 5740 per barrel at the end of the week. Apart from these, NATURAL GAS April-2025 futures opened at Rs 335.9 at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of Rs 363.8 and a low of Rs 329 during the week and closed the week at Rs 353.8 per MMBTU, up by Rs 15.9 or 4.71 per cent, as against the previous close of Rs 337.9. Whereas NATURAL GAS-MINI April-2025 futures closed the week at Rs 353.7 per MMBTU, up by Rs 16 or 4.74 per cent.
AGRI: Among agricultural commodities, MENTHA OIL April futures opened at Rs 925.9 at the beginning of the week and closed the week at Rs 925.2 per kg, down by Rs 2.1 or 0.23 per cent. COTTON CANDY May futures closed the week at Rs 54980 per candy, up by Rs 1080 or 2 per cent.
Turnover: In terms of turnover during the week, various contracts of GOLD traded for Rs 86755.09 crore and various contracts of SILVER traded for Rs 51678.95 crore on MCX. Apart from this, copper futures traded for Rs 6322.32 crore, ALUMINIUM and ALUMINIUM-MINI futures traded for Rs 1439.22 crore, LEAD and LEAD-MINI futures traded for Rs 381.84 crore, ZINC and ZINC-MINI futures traded for Rs 2497.75 crore.
Apart from these commodities, CRUDE OIL and CRUDE OIL-MINI futures witnessed trades worth Rs 7431.79 crore, while NATURAL GAS and NATURAL GAS-MINI futures witnessed a turnover of Rs 21528.27 crore. MENTHA OIL futures witnessed trades worth Rs 9.44 crore, while COTTON CANDY futures witnessed trades worth Rs 4.22 crore.
Index futures: In index futures, MCXBULLDEX April-2025 futures opened at 21200 points at the beginning of the week, touched an intra-day high of 21493 and a low of 20707 during the week and at the end of the week closed at 20974 points, down 176 points.
