TATA.ev plans to expand India’s EV charging network to over 400,000 charge points by 2027, more than doubling the current infrastructure. This initiative aims to boost EV adoption and improve charging accessibility nationwide.
As part of its ‘Open Collaboration 2.0’ framework, TATA.ev will partner with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to install 30,000 new public fast chargers. The company has also launched the TATA.ev Mega Charger network, bringing high-speed, reliable charging to key cities and highways. Additionally, TATA.ev Verified Chargers and a dedicated Charging Helpline will improve user experience and reduce charging anxiety.
Since 2019, TATA.ev has played a key role in developing India’s EV charging infrastructure. It has established over 1.5 lakh private/home chargers, 2,500 community chargers, and 750 dealership chargers across 200+ cities. Recent collaborations have helped increase public charging points to 18,000 within 15 months.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said the company is committed to supporting EV adoption by enhancing charging infrastructure. He emphasised that this initiative will improve reliability, ease of access, and economic viability for CPOs, fostering a strong EV ecosystem.
Under Open Collaboration 2.0, TATA.ev has signed agreements with Tata Power, ChargeZone, Statiq, and Zeon to install 500 TATA.ev Mega Chargers in two years. These chargers will serve all EV users, with priority access and tariffs for TATA.ev customers. The IRA.ev app will allow users to track chargers and make payments through a single platform, simplifying the charging experience.
With a strong focus on sustainable mobility, TATA.ev continues to drive India’s EV transition. It remains a leader in building a comprehensive and user-friendly charging network.
