A Cultural Extravaganza at Rashtrapati Bhavan

The annual cultural festival, Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav, is back with its South India edition. The event, inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on 5th March 2025, is open to the public from 6th to 9th March, from 10 AM to 8 PM, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Last year’s North-East edition drew 1.3 lakh visitors and generated ₹1 crore+ in sales for artisans. This year, the focus is on Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry. The festival transforms Rashtrapati Bhavan into a hub of cultural exchange.

Festival Highlights

  • 500+ artisans display South India’s finest crafts, including Kanjeevaram sarees, Pochampally ikat, and brassware.
  • 400+ performers bring classical and folk arts to life, featuring Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, and Yakshagana.
  • Authentic cuisine includes Bisi Bele Bath, Kerala Sadya, and Chettinad delicacies.
  • Youth Zone with interactive workshops and storytelling sessions.

Free Entry & Public Participation

The festival is free for all. Visitors can book tickets online at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s website. Entry is through Gate No. 35.

A Celebration of Unity in Diversity

Supported by multiple ministries, the Mahotsav aims to empower artisans and performers while connecting people to their cultural roots. It is not just an event but a tribute to India’s rich and diverse heritage.
