The Union Cabinet has approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, effective from July 1, 2025. Announced on October 1, 2025, this decision comes just ahead of Dussehra, providing timely financial relief to nearly 49.19 lakh central government employees and 68.72 lakh pensioners across the country.
For employees with a basic salary of ₹30,000, this DA hike translates to an additional ₹900 per month. Those earning ₹40,000 will see an increase of ₹1,200. Arrears for July, August, and September will be credited along with the October salary, ensuring that employees and pensioners can benefit in time for the festive season.
