Air India adds Gaya to its domestic network
Air India is set to launch daily Delhi-Gaya flights starting 1 September 2025. This move makes Gaya the airline’s 46th domestic destination and adds another important link to its growing network across India. Operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, the new route is part of Air India’s plan to improve regional air travel and support spiritual tourism.
The city of Gaya holds global religious significance. It serves as the main access point to Bodh Gaya one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites. By starting regular direct flights, Air India aims to offer a smooth and reliable travel option for pilgrims and spiritual travellers heading to this holy destination.
Making bodh Gaya easier to reach
These daily Delhi-Gaya flights are expected to attract more visitors, both from within India and abroad. The direct route reduces travel time for tourists and pilgrims, especially those heading to Bodh Gaya from international locations.
To make connections easier, the flight timings have been planned to link smoothly with Air India’s other major routes across Asia. Travellers from cities like Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Seoul, and Kathmandu can now reach Gaya with just one stop.
