The excitement around Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated action thriller Alpha continues to grow, and actor Bobby Deol has now shared his experience of working on the film alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Calling the project refreshing and groundbreaking, Bobby expressed his admiration for the film’s unique concept, which places two women at the centre of a high-octane action story.
Alpha is part of YRF’s expanding Spy Universe and tells the origin story of a deadly assassin trained for combat and survival. Headlined by Alia Bhatt, the film also features Sharvari in a prominent role, while veteran actor Anil Kapoor plays a pivotal character.
Speaking about the project, Bobby Deol said he thoroughly enjoyed being part of the film and appreciated the fact that Indian cinema is now embracing female-led action spectacles on a grand scale.
The actor revealed that he had long wanted to collaborate with both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. After sharing screen space with Ranbir in the blockbuster Animal, Bobby was delighted to finally work with Alia in Alpha. According to him, the experience proved equally rewarding.
Bobby described Alpha as a refreshing addition to Indian cinema because it offers audiences something they have rarely seen before. He noted that seeing two women lead an action-packed film is a significant step forward and brings a new visual experience to moviegoers.
One aspect that particularly impressed Bobby was Alia Bhatt’s commitment to preparing for the physically demanding role. Known for her performances in dramas and character-driven films, Alia has not previously headlined a large-scale action project. Bobby said he was amazed by the effort she invested in mastering the demanding action sequences.
According to him, Alia arrived on set fully prepared and deeply committed to every scene. He praised her professionalism, sincerity and determination, adding that action filmmaking requires a different level of discipline and physical endurance. Watching her embrace the challenge with confidence left a strong impression on him.
The actor also highlighted the vision shared by producer Aditya Chopra and director Shiv Rawail. Their goal, he said, was to create action sequences that felt realistic, intense and grounded rather than overly stylised. This approach made filming physically demanding for the cast but ultimately helped shape a more authentic cinematic experience.
Bobby acknowledged that the shoot was challenging for everyone involved. However, he believes the effort has resulted in a film that audiences will enjoy on the big screen. He expressed hope that viewers would appreciate the scale, energy and freshness that Alpha brings to the action genre.
Directed by Shiv Rawail, who earned acclaim for the hit series The Railway Men, Alpha represents one of the most ambitious entries in YRF’s Spy Universe. With Alia Bhatt and Sharvari leading the action and a strong supporting cast that includes Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor, the film is generating considerable anticipation among fans.
Set for a worldwide theatrical release on 10 July 2026, Alpha aims to deliver a new chapter in Indian action cinema while showcasing women in powerful, action-driven roles rarely seen on this scale.
