In a recent interview, Congress leader Sam Pitroda suggested that India should adopt a collaborative approach towards China, stating that the perceived threat is ‘often blown out of proportion.’ He emphasized the need to “increase communication, collaborate, operate and co-create” rather than maintaining a confrontational stance.

These remarks have ignited a political controversy, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing Pitroda of undermining India’s sovereignty. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed that Pitroda’s statements reveal the Congress party’s alignment with China, describing them as a “deep blow to India’s identity, diplomacy, and sovereignty.”

In response to the backlash, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh distanced the party from Pitroda’s views, stating, “The views reportedly expressed by Sam Pitroda on China are most definitely not the views of the Indian National Congress.”

This incident has intensified the ongoing debate over India’s foreign policy approach towards China, highlighting internal divisions and prompting calls for a unified national strategy.
