A decade may have passed since its release, but Fitoor continues to charm audiences, proving that great cinema is timeless. Starring Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur, the romantic drama celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year, and producer Pragya Kapoor reflects on how the film shaped her understanding of filmmaking and producing.

Fitoor, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ 1861 classic, Great Expectations. The film’s blend of romance, music, and visual storytelling has kept it relevant even today. From the stunning Kashmir landscapes to the soulful songs and the nuanced performances, Fitoor has created a cinematic experience that resonates across generations.

Speaking about the film, Pragya Kapoor recalls the moment she first read the script. “It’s written by Abhishek Kapoor and Supratik Sen. That script is a masterclass in scriptwriting. I’ve read countless scripts before and since, but Fitoor taught me so much about storytelling, structure, and character depth. Honestly, it’s one of our best-written scripts till date,” she says.

Pragya also shares how Fitoor inspired her passion for producing films. “Fitoor opened my eyes to what producing truly is. It made me fall in love with producing, and it’s one of the reasons I chose this path. The visuals, the music, and the emotions in the film are still relevant. People are still posting about it, sharing nostalgia, and that’s the beauty of filmmaking. You don’t make a film just for now; you make it for forever. Fitoor did exactly that!”

Even after ten years, Fitoor remains a benchmark for romantic dramas in Bollywood. Its memorable soundtrack, picturesque settings, and compelling narrative continue to captivate audiences. The film’s exploration of love, longing, separation, and human emotions is as moving today as it was a decade ago.

Pragya Kapoor’s reflections highlight the enduring impact of Fitoor, both as a work of art and as a formative experience in her career. The film demonstrates that timeless storytelling, strong performances, and thoughtful production can leave a lasting imprint on viewers, ensuring that great cinema never fades with time.
