Hindi cinema’s legendary “Dream Girl” Hema Malini is set to celebrate an extraordinary milestone as her remarkable 60-year journey in Indian cinema will be honoured through a grand musical extravaganza in Mumbai. Titled “Hema Malini – Live in Concert: Celebrating the Dream Girl’s Diamond Jubilee,” the special event will take place on July 10 at the prestigious Shanmukhananda Hall, bringing together some of the biggest names from the Indian music and film industry.
The event promises to be one of Bollywood’s most memorable celebrations, paying tribute to Hema Malini’s illustrious career that has spanned six decades. For the first time, the veteran actor will personally take audiences through her incredible journey, sharing untold stories, memorable moments and behind-the-scenes experiences from her life in cinema.
Known for delivering several iconic performances and becoming one of Hindi cinema’s most admired stars, Hema Malini’s contribution to Indian films continues to inspire generations of actors and filmmakers. The Diamond Jubilee concert aims to celebrate not only her achievements on screen but also her enduring legacy in the entertainment industry.
The grand musical tribute has been conceptualised, written, produced, directed and hosted by renowned RJ Anirudh Chawla. The evening has been designed as a celebration of cinema, music and nostalgia, bringing together legendary playback singers, musicians and performers under one roof.
The concert will feature performances by an impressive line-up of celebrated artists, including Sudesh Bhosle, Suresh Wadkar, Kavita Krishnamurti, Anu Malik, Padmini Kolhapure, Shabbir Kumar, Anup Jalota, Vijeta Pandit and Poornima Shreshtha. Their performances are expected to revisit many timeless melodies associated with Hema Malini’s celebrated film career, creating a nostalgic experience for audiences.
Adding another emotional dimension to the evening, the organisers have planned a special tribute to veteran actor Dharmendra, who has shared both an iconic on-screen partnership and a lifelong personal journey with Hema Malini. The tribute is expected to celebrate their enduring contribution to Indian cinema.
Beyond the entertainment, the event will also carry a strong social message. As part of the celebrations, a charitable donation of ₹10 lakh will be presented to CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes’ Association) and FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees). The contribution reflects the organisers’ commitment to supporting members of the film fraternity while celebrating one of its most respected personalities.
Speaking about the event, RJ Anirudh Chawla described Hema Malini as much more than a film star. He said she represents an institution in Indian cinema and that audiences will, for the first time, have the opportunity to hear her remarkable six-decade journey directly from her. According to him, bringing this celebration to life is both an honour and a privilege.
The evening is expected to offer a unique blend of live music, personal storytelling and cinematic nostalgia, making it a fitting tribute to one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actresses.
