Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has partnered with Jio-bp to integrate their electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, aiming to make public charging more accessible, convenient and reliable for EV users across India. Through the collaboration, more than 7,000 Jio-bp pulse charging points across over 300 cities will be integrated with HMIL’s charging ecosystem, taking the total number of charging points accessible through the myHyundai app to more than 37,000.

The partnership is designed to simplify the charging experience for EV owners by allowing them to discover and access Jio-bp pulse charging stations through the myHyundai app. The integration is expected to particularly benefit EV users undertaking long-distance journeys, with Jio-bp maintaining a strong presence along major national highways.

Jio-bp brings more than 7,000 active charging points to the partnership, significantly expanding the geographical reach of HMIL’s EV charging ecosystem. Its network includes high-capacity DC fast chargers ranging from 60 kW to 480 kW, enabling compatible electric vehicles to charge at speeds closer to their maximum hardware capability. The company also reports a network uptime of 96%, aimed at providing EV users with a dependable charging experience.

Hyun Sup Lee, Executive Director and Function Head, Corporate Planning, HMIL, said the company’s focus is on delivering a comprehensive and worry-free electric mobility experience. According to him, as EV adoption grows, consumer concerns are increasingly shifting from range anxiety to charging anxiety, making accessible and dependable charging infrastructure increasingly important.

The partnership will allow Hyundai EV owners to access a broader charging network through a single digital platform. At the same time, the benefits of the myHyundai charging network are not restricted to Hyundai vehicle owners. EV users across vehicle brands can use the myHyundai app to discover and access charging points available on its EV charging network.

Sarthak Behuria, Chairman, Jio-bp, said the transition towards electric mobility requires charging infrastructure that consumers can trust at scale. He noted that the partnership combines Jio-bp’s nationwide network and high-performance charging infrastructure with Hyundai’s customer ecosystem to make clean mobility more accessible and dependable.

Akshay Wadhwa, CEO, Jio-bp, highlighted the importance of charger reliability for EV users. He said that charging anxiety is not only linked to the availability of charging stations but also to whether a charger is operational when required. The company’s high-uptime network and fast-charging technology are aimed at addressing this concern.

Alongside the partnership, HMIL is continuing to expand its own proprietary DC fast-charging network. The company currently has 183 operational DC fast-charging stations and plans to increase this number to 600 stations by 2030. In addition to being accessible through the myHyundai app, HMIL-owned DC fast chargers, including existing and future installations, will gradually be made available on the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app.

The collaboration comes as India’s EV market continues to develop, with charging infrastructure emerging as a key factor in encouraging wider adoption of electric mobility. By bringing together two charging networks and making them accessible through digital platforms, the partnership aims to create a more connected public charging ecosystem.

For EV users, the integration means greater visibility of charging locations, improved access to fast-charging infrastructure and increased confidence while travelling across cities and national highways. HMIL and Jio-bp also plan to explore customer-centric offers in the future as they work towards enhancing the overall EV ownership experience.
