In a significant move for Indo-US cinema, US-based Red Bison Productions has partnered with Mumbai’s Azure Entertainment to produce a cross-border feature film inspired by a true story. The collaboration marks Azure Entertainment’s first Hollywood venture and signals a growing momentum in global storytelling between India and the United States.
The yet-untitled film will be written and directed by Harsh Mahadeshwar. The story follows the emotional and cultural journey of an immigrant family navigating life beyond the traditional idea of the American Dream. Rooted in realism and shaped for a global audience, the narrative explores identity, belonging and resilience across borders.
The film stars National Award-winning actor Priya Mani alongside acclaimed performer Mohit Raina. Both actors will headline a story that spans continents and cultures. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
Production will take place across New York and New Jersey, with additional filming in Delhi and Jammu-Kashmir. The choice of locations reflects the international arc of the narrative and aims to provide both visual depth and emotional authenticity.
Speaking about the project, Mohit Raina described the story as deeply personal and centred on themes of identity and belonging. He noted that being part of the first collaboration between Azure Entertainment and Red Bison Productions adds special meaning to the film’s journey.
Priya Mani highlighted the emotional truth of the script as the primary reason she joined the project. She emphasised the shared creative vision between the teams and expressed confidence that the film will connect with audiences across geographies.
Romila Saraf Bhat, Founder of Red Bison Productions, said the story demanded a global cinematic voice from the outset. She described the collaboration as a strong creative alignment supported by a compelling script and a committed cast.
Prashant Ramesh Mishra, CEO and Co-Founder of Azure Entertainment, called the film a defining milestone for the company’s global expansion. He noted that Azure has consistently focused on emotionally driven storytelling and sees this project as a natural evolution into international cinema.
Further details regarding the film’s title, additional cast members and release schedule are expected to be announced in the coming months.
